EAST HAVEN, Connecticut — A 21-year-old mother was brutally stabbed to death inside her apartment in what authorities described as a domestic violence incident, leaving behind a young child and devastating her family and community.
Destiny Rumley was found suffering from multiple stab wounds (reportedly nine) on the morning of December 30, 2025, at the Foxon Woods apartment complex on Old Foxon Road. Emergency responders rushed her to Yale New Haven Hospital, but she could not be saved.
Her 3-year-old child was present in the apartment at the time of the attack. Officers safely removed the toddler through a window during the response.
