A young Florida couple has been arrested and charged in connection with the disappearance and presumed death of their newborn daughter after authorities say they secretly gave birth and later claimed the child never existed.

Leon Alejandro Jr., 21, and Samantha Angeline Feliz, 20, both of Hollywood, Florida, were taken into custody on July 22, 2026, in Rockingham, North Carolina. They were arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals on fugitive warrants and are being held without bond pending extradition to Florida.

According to investigators, Feliz gave birth to a baby girl (referred to in some reports as Angelina or Alayaih Amor Leon Feliz) sometime between December 6, 2024, and January 5, 2025. The birth was concealed and did not occur in a hospital. Family members reportedly saw the couple with the infant during its first month of life. After that period, the baby was never seen again.

When relatives asked about the child, Alejandro and Feliz allegedly denied the baby’s existence, telling them it “was a prank” and later claiming the pregnancy had been a “hoax” designed to scam family members out of money. Photographs showed Feliz appearing pregnant, and text messages referenced the pregnancy and baby. A last known photo of the infant, taken around January 5, 2025, reportedly showed the child looking ill and malnourished.

Evidence recovered from a storage unit included baby clothing, a positive pregnancy test, and blood-stained towels. DNA testing confirmed the blood belonged to a biological child of the couple. Despite extensive searches, including the use of cadaver dogs, the infant’s remains have not been found. No birth certificate or medical records for the child have been located.

The pair faces multiple felony charges in Florida, including aggravated manslaughter of a child, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, failure to report a death to the medical examiner, providing false information concerning a missing child, and making false reports to law enforcement.

A missing child alert had previously been issued for the infant after concerned relatives reported they had not seen her for months. Authorities say the couple fled Florida and were living on property belonging to one of Alejandro’s relatives in North Carolina at the time of their arrest.

The investigation remains ongoing as the couple awaits extradition.
