XAVIER TAYLOR’S FIGHT CONTINUES — A COMMUNITY REFUSES TO GIVE UP HOPE

For more than two months, 12-year-old Xavier Taylor has remained in a coma after a baseball accidentally struck him in the neck.

I wish I could say that Xavier has awakened.

I wish there were a major medical breakthrough to share today.

There isn’t.

But his family continues to hold tightly to their faith.

Now, they are asking the thousands of people who have followed Xavier’s journey to come together once again through prayer and fasting.

Xavier’s life changed on May 26 while he was warming up before a youth baseball game in New Jersey.

After being struck, he collapsed and suffered cardiac arrest before being airlifted to the hospital.

Since then, his family, teammates, and an enormous community have refused to stop believing in him.

His story has traveled far beyond the baseball field.

Bridges have been illuminated blue in his honor.

Baseball bats have appeared on front porches.

His teammates have worn his No. 6.

His jersey has remained hanging in the dugout.

These may seem like small gestures, but to Xavier’s family, they are powerful reminders that their son is not fighting alone.

For now, there may be no major update.

But there is still hope.

And Xavier’s family is asking everyone who believes in the power of prayer to stand with them once again.
