For more than a month, investigators searched through a massive Baton Rouge landfill looking for a child who should’ve been home with his family.
Now, authorities say human remains recovered on August 18 were found with clothing matching what Ja’Derrius was wearing when he disappeared.
He was only 15 years old.
Investigators believe Ja’Derrius was beaten to d34th shortly after he vanished, and his body was later mistakenly picked up by a garbage truck and taken to the landfill.
Just imagine that phone call.
Imagine being his family and learning that crews had to search through mountains of garbage just to find your baby.
Maurice Parms, 51, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the case.
Ja’Derrius should’ve been preparing for another school year.
He should’ve been laughing with friends.
He should’ve had years and years ahead of him.
Instead, his family is now facing the unimaginable.
