Keep Fighting, Xavier: A Family Still Praying for a Miracle

Keep Fighting, Xavier: A Family Still Praying for a Miracle

After returning from vacation, I found myself checking back on the stories I have been following.

One update stopped me in my tracks: 12-year-old Xavier Taylor is still on life support.

The young New Jersey baseball player was accidentally struck by a baseball before a game on May 26.

The devastating accident caused him to suffer cardiac arrest and changed his family’s life in an instant.

Weeks later, Xavier remains connected to a ventilator as his loved ones continue to face an unimaginable reality.

According to his father, Xavier’s condition has stabilized.

But there have been few signs of the progress everyone is desperately hoping to see.

For his family, however, hope has never disappeared.

They continue to pray every day for their little boy.

They continue to believe that a miracle is still possible.

Xavier is more than a heartbreaking headline.

He is a son, a teammate, a friend, and a 12-year-old whose life should have been filled with baseball, laughter, and dreams.

His family has refused to give up on him.

And neither has the community that continues to stand behind them.

Sometimes, when there are no easy answers, all that remains is love, faith, and hope.

So tonight, many hearts remain with Xavier and his family.

May they find strength for every difficult day ahead.

And may the miracle they have been praying for finally come.
