NEW YORK CITY — A 51-year-old MTA employee was viciously attacked on the southbound E train platform at the 71st Avenue subway station in Forest Hills, Queens, Wednesday night around 10:00 p.m.

According to police, the worker got into an argument with a man wearing a white hoodie and matching sweatpants. The suspect then allegedly punched the employee multiple times in the face before fleeing on an outbound train.

The incident was captured on surveillance video, and authorities have released images of the suspect in hopes of identifying him. The MTA worker was injured but is expected to recover.

This latest attack adds to ongoing concerns about safety in the NYC subway system. Transit workers and riders continue to face risks despite increased policing efforts.
