Please Keep Baby Brian Jr. in Your Prayers
Before Brian was even born, his parents, Rhiannon and Brian, learned that their son had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a serious congenital heart condition affecting the development of the left side of the heart.
His parents were faced with an incredibly difficult decision. They chose to give their little boy every chance they could.
“Of course we chose to fight for him.”
Brian has been fighting ever since.
According to his family, he underwent a heart procedure the day he was born, followed by his first open-heart surgery just two days later. He later underwent another major heart surgery.
Then, Monday night around 11:30, his family says Brian went into cardiac arrest.
They say a blood clot had blocked blood flow to the side of his heart that was doing the work his body needed.
Doctors performed CPR for approximately two hours before placing the 5-month-old on ECMO, a form of life support that can temporarily support heart and lung function.
His family says doctors were also able to remove the clot.
Now, everyone is waiting and praying to see how much his heart can recover.
His grandmother, JoAnna, shared:
“My grandson Brian Jr. is one of the strongest boys I know.”
Please pray for Brian’s heart.
Pray for his doctors and nurses.
Pray for Rhiannon and Brian as they sit beside their little boy.
And pray that this tiny fighter continues to grow stronger.
