A Family’s Prayer for Xavier: Hope That Refuses to Fade

For more than two months, 12-year-old Xavier Taylor has remained in a coma, while his family stays by his side, holding tightly to a faith that refuses to fade.

His life changed in a single heartbreaking moment during warm-ups before a youth baseball game in New Jersey. A ball accidentally struck his neck, causing him to collapse and suffer cardiac arrest. He was rushed by helicopter to the hospital, but he has not yet awakened.

While there has been no major medical update, Xavier has never been forgotten.

Bridges have been illuminated in blue in his honor. Baseball bats have appeared outside homes. His teammates continue to carry his No. 6 with pride and love. And his jersey remains in the dugout, waiting for the young player who should be wearing it.

Now, his family is asking people everywhere to come together in prayer and fasting.

They are praying for healing, strength, restoration, and peace—for Xavier’s body and brain, for his exhausted family, and for every doctor and nurse caring for him.
