Six-year-old Annalise, lovingly called Mae, has been facing an incredibly difficult battle with cancer.

After being too unwell to attend her birthday parade earlier, Mae finally got to experience the celebration — surrounded by people who wanted her to know just how loved she is.

Behind that beautiful moment, however, Mae’s family is still facing heartbreaking uncertainty.

According to her family, Mae is currently receiving chemotherapy every Tuesday while they wait for information about possible clinical trials. She is also receiving medication to help manage pain and nausea.

Doctors have told the family that her cancer has spread extensively through her brain and that her condition is terminal. At the same time, her family continues to pursue every available option that could give Mae more time.

“We don’t know how long we have with her,” Myra said. “The doctors don’t know either.”

For Myra, the uncertainty is incredibly difficult. She describes Mae as her “little sidekick” and says the two have shared countless special moments together.

“She’s just a baby still,” Myra said.

Yet despite the heartbreak, Mae’s family says they are not giving up.

They are continuing chemotherapy, exploring clinical trials, managing her symptoms, and searching for ways to make each day meaningful.

One of Mae’s biggest dreams is to see the Northern Lights in Alaska. For now, her family is simply cherishing every moment they have together while continuing to hope for another opportunity.
