Georgia Man Accused of Shooting and Killing Wife and Daughter After Drunken Argument

OXFORD, Georgia — A 63-year-old man is facing two murder charges after authorities say he shot and killed his wife and daughter during a drunken argument inside their home.

Ralph Mincey is accused of shooting his 37-year-old daughter, Amanda McBrayer, in the head, then attacking and shooting his 57-year-old wife, Jennifer Mincey, after the two women confronted him about not taking care of his own mother.

Amanda’s husband witnessed the shooting and ran to protect their children. In a frantic 911 call, he said, “He just shot my wife in the head. I literally ran away because I had two kids I’ve got to protect.”

Mincey himself called 911 and admitted to the shootings, telling the dispatcher he used a 9mm handgun and “shot my daughter and my wife of 38 years.” He said he “lost it” after being criticized and screamed at.

Amanda was found dead at the scene. Jennifer was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office described the incident as a senseless loss of life. Mincey faces two counts of murder and a weapons charge.

This tragic family violence has left the community in shock. The surviving family members are mourning the loss of two beloved women.

The investigation is ongoing.
