Georgia Man Allegedly Kills Wife and Daughter in Rage Over Care of His Elderly Mother: ‘I Lost It’

Oxford, Georgia — A 63-year-old Georgia man has been charged with murder after authorities say he fatally shot his wife of nearly 38 years and their 37-year-old daughter during a heated argument over the care of his elderly mother.

Ralph Mincey was arrested following the Wednesday shootings at a home in Walton County. According to police, the dispute escalated when his daughter, Amanda McBrayer, accused him of not properly caring for his mother. Mincey allegedly told investigators he “lost it” during the confrontation.

He is accused of shooting McBrayer in the head first, then turning the 9mm handgun on his wife, Jennifer Mincey. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene. Mincey was taken into custody without incident.

The tragedy has devastated the family and community, with loved ones mourning two women described as caring and devoted. A memorial has begun to form outside the home as investigators continue to process the scene.

Mincey faces multiple charges, including murder, and is being held in the Walton County Jail. The case remains under active investigation by local authorities.

Domestic violence and elder care disputes can escalate rapidly, and officials urge anyone in crisis to seek help through appropriate channels, such as law enforcement or support hotlines, rather than violence.
