Mississippi Teen Accused of Brutally Murdering Elderly Couple Who Had Helped Him with Odd Jobs

A shocking double homicide in Mississippi has left a community reeling after authorities allege that a 17-year-old teen, Cordarius Hobbs, murdered an elderly couple who had given him work and trusted him on their property.

74-year-old Bill Blair and his 71-year-old wife, Carol Blair, were found dead in their home on June 3, 2026. Carol was discovered curled in the fetal position with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, while Bill was found in the kitchen after being shot three times in the face. Investigators recovered more than 280 shell casings inside the home and believe the couple’s own firearms were used in the attack.

Hobbs, who had done odd jobs for the couple, faces two counts of capital murder. When contractors arrived to install a generator, they noticed something was wrong and alerted authorities. Deputies responding to the scene were reportedly met with gunfire, leading to a nearly two-hour standoff before Hobbs was shot and taken into custody.

The case has horrified neighbors who knew the Blairs as kind and trusting individuals. The investigation continues as authorities piece together the events leading to the tragic deaths.
