A 2-year-old South Texas boy went from being home with his family to suffering seizures, being flown hundreds of miles away and undergoing emergency brain surgery doctors had to stop when the bleeding became too dangerous.
Now his family is asking us to pray for little Joe Alexander.
Samantha reached out to me about her coworker Jennifer Espinoza and the frightening turn her family’s life has taken.
Joe is just 2 years old.

Last week, Samantha says he suddenly began having seizures in Laredo and was taken to Laredo Medical Center before being flown to Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi.
There, his family learned their little boy had a rare brain tumor called an ependymoma.
Doctors took Joe into emergency brain surgery and attempted to remove the tumor, but Samantha says they were forced to stop because of excessive bleeding.
Think about how terrifying that must have been for his mom.

Your 2-year-old is suddenly having seizures, you’re sent far from home, doctors discover a tumor in his brain, and then the surgery meant to remove it can’t be completed.
Now Joe faces what his loved ones describe as a long road ahead.
Jennifer is staying beside her little boy while also worrying about three other children who need their mom, too.
But right now, what this family needs most is prayer.
Please pray that Joe’s doctors can determine the safest path forward.
Pray for healing inside that little boy’s brain and for his tiny body to remain strong through whatever comes next.

And pray for Jennifer as she tries to be everything her four children need while facing something no mother should have to watch her baby endure.
Joe Alexander is only 2 years old, and his fight has just begun.
Let’s make sure his family knows they aren’t facing it alone.
